The choir performs intricate and complex repertoire with a range of 5-8 concerts per season in between September and July. The choir rehearses regularly on Wednesdays 7:00pm - 9:00pm with the occasional other weekday / Saturday depending on the concert schedule. Due to the size of the ensemble and fast-paced concert season, every effort must be made to be present at all scheduled rehearsals in accordance with our attendance policy. As a result, we kindly request serious inquiries only. If you can commit to the majority or all concerts, attend weekly rehearsals, and plan regular preparation outside of rehearsal, this is a great start!

Capital Chamber Choir encourages audition submissions from minority groups, persons with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and anyone who can add to the artistic merit and vision of CCC.

COVID-19 disclaimer: At this time, masking in rehearsals and performances is optional but strongly encouraged.

When and where?

We are holding auditions for tenors ONLY at this time. All auditions typically take place in the choir room at St. Joseph’s Parish, 174 Wilbrod St.

What to prepare?

Singers will need to prepare selected choral excerpts that will be sent in advance, prior to the audition date.  The choral excerpts are in SATB format and you are asked to prepare the part that best demonstrates your vocal range and technical capabilities while performing in front of an audition panel. Excerpts are to be performed a cappella. There will also be a short sight reading test, scales with our vocal specialist, and a blending exercise with a quartet comprised of current CCC members.

How much?

If your audition is successful and you are invited as a core member, the chorister fees are 120$ per season or can be paid in two installments per semester:

Singing semester #1 is September to December

Singing semester #2 is January to June (or July)

How long?

The audition will be approximately 12-15 minutes. No hired accompaniment is needed.
